I Buried My Wife

New Poems
I buried my wife in the sky so the Great Blue Herons can comb and wash her every morning, pull the blanket to her chin at night.
I buried my wife in the middle of a worried day not remembered by my words or a last sound rising, beside the quiet secret of a rose closed with rain.
I buried my wife in my heart, my sleepless one, my darling - now closer to our children - farther still from anything bright.
