About Healing

- July 10, 2009, 3:24 pm | Poetry

I think about how easy
the grass would cut now,
how it would pile in neat
wet rows if you`d ask me.

I think about how your legs
hurt when you stood, and how
you used to try to stay up late,
but fell asleep too soon.

I think about telling you
that when you hit me I know
you didn`t hate me and it hurt you.
I think about telling you

that I now know I was born
into this world naked
and you clothed and fed me
but couldn`t wait until I
wrote this poem
